A distressed father is appealing to the two individuals who attempted to rescue his teenage son from drowning to step forward. Alan Damon Robinson is eager to express his gratitude in person to the strangers who bravely tried to save his son, known as Reco Puttock. Tragically, the 13-year-old boy lost his life after encountering difficulties at Leadbeater Dam in West Yorkshire during the recent heatwave.
Mr. Robinson, believed to be from Bradford, took to social media, urging the heroic duo to contact him so he could personally thank them for their courageous efforts. Reco was one of several young individuals who lost their lives in water-related incidents over the weekend, coinciding with temperatures exceeding 38C. Just days before the tragic event, the RNLI had issued a somber warning for young people to exercise caution near water bodies.
Tributes in the form of flowers and heartfelt messages like “RIP Reco. Miss you millions” and “RIP Reco. You will be forever missed” have been left at the site of the incident. Reco’s mother fondly remembered him as being close to his three sisters, particularly his elder sister, and enjoying spending time with friends outdoors.
Authorities from West Yorkshire Police responded to the incident at Leadbeater Dam, where the young boy was found in distress in the water and later pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigations are ongoing, but foul play is not suspected. Tragically, another individual in his 60s also lost his life during the heatwave while trying to save family members in trouble at a beach in Padstow, Cornwall.
