Two individuals accompanying Anthony Joshua in his SUV tragically lost their lives in a severe collision, as reported by witnesses. The British boxer sustained injuries and was promptly taken to a hospital in Nigeria. The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway near Makun when Joshua’s vehicle, accompanied by his security team, collided with a stationary truck.
According to reports, the collision was caused by a burst tire which led to the loss of control of Joshua’s vehicle. Local authorities, including the Ogun state traffic compliance and enforcement agency, are investigating the crash.
An eyewitness, Adeniyi Orojo, recounted the incident involving a two-vehicle convoy consisting of a Lexus SUV and a Pajero SUV. Tragically, two occupants in the Lexus, including a passenger next to Joshua, lost their lives in the crash. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, confirmed that Joshua was safe and en route to the hospital, while he himself was informed about the incident during his holiday in the Caribbean.
Joshua, who was in Nigeria visiting his parents’ homeland, recently defeated Jake Paul in a match. The victory came after a competitive bout that ended with Paul suffering a broken jaw in two places.
