Travellers were instructed to vacate Euston Station following a security alert. This afternoon, a significant number of individuals exited the station after being informed about a security incident, which was later identified as a suspicious item. Visuals from the location displayed passengers waiting outside while police vehicles were observed nearby.

Transport for London (TFL) declared the closure of the station “due to a security alert.” News Agents presenter Lewis Goodall noted a “full evacuation at the station,” highlighting the substantial police presence. Goodall shared on social media that train staff informed him of the evacuation due to a suspicious package being investigated by the police, emphasizing that such occurrences are not uncommon in a heightened alert environment.

A bystander mentioned on social media the “security incident at Euston Station,” noting the relocation of individuals to the bus station, indicating the seriousness of the situation. Another observer reported that the police had directed everyone away, with the fire service subsequently arriving.

A video captured outside the station depicted the arrival of at least three police vehicles. TFL confirmed the station’s reopening shortly after 3:30 pm. Avanti West Coast verified the resumption of all lines at London Euston, cautioning travelers about potential residual cancellations and delays, advising them to verify their travel plans beforehand.

The police response coincided with the recent fatal stabbings at a synagogue in Manchester earlier in the day. The incident has been confirmed as a terrorist attack resulting in two fatalities and three individuals sustaining serious injuries, with the assailant being neutralized by law enforcement.

A spokesperson from the British Transport Police informed The Mirror that officers were summoned around 2:45 pm on the same day to investigate a suspicious item at Euston railway station. As a precautionary measure, a cordon was established, and the station was evacuated. Subsequently, the item was determined to be non-threatening, leading to the conclusion of the incident.
