Daniel Dubois displayed incredible resilience by getting up from the canvas twice to defeat Fabio Wardley in what is being hailed as a fierce battle in the history of boxing.

Wardley started the fight aggressively, knocking down Dubois within 10 seconds and repeating the feat in the third round. Despite these setbacks, Dubois managed to assert his dominance with his jab as the fight progressed.

The challenger took control from the fourth round onwards, landing significant shots on Wardley, who bravely absorbed the punishment. By the ninth round, Wardley’s right eye was almost swollen shut from the relentless attacks, and Dubois secured victory in the 11th round to reclaim his world champion title.

Reflecting on the intense fight, the new champion remarked, “We faced tough moments, but it was a true battle. I demonstrated my resilience and warrior spirit by getting back up, shaking it off, and returning stronger.”

Wardley was defending his heavyweight title for the first time, having received the belt after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished his title rather than facing Wardley. On the other hand, Dubois was seeking redemption after his previous loss to Usyk last summer and aimed to become a two-time champion.

Dubois arrived late at the venue due to traffic congestion in Manchester, entering the ring clad in all black attire. Wardley, representing his hometown football club Ipswich Town, who recently secured promotion to the Premier League, initiated the fight with a quick knockdown of Dubois.

Despite the early setbacks, Dubois rallied back in the second round with a strong jab and right-hand combinations. The fight intensified in the subsequent rounds, with both fighters trading powerful blows and demonstrating exceptional resilience.

As the match progressed, Dubois maintained control with his effective jab, gradually wearing down Wardley. In the later rounds, Wardley’s right eye was almost closed due to the relentless assault from Dubois, leading to the referee stopping the fight in the 11th round in favor of Dubois.

The thrilling battle showcased the determination and skill of both fighters, with Dubois emerging victorious in a hard-fought contest that will be remembered in boxing history.
