A young boy vacationing in Mexico had an unexpected encounter when he felt movement in his ear and discovered a live crab had taken up residence inside. The incident, which was captured on video and shared on social media by his mother, quickly gained attention online.
The boy, identified as Pedro and the son of influencer Kitzia Mitre, was relaxing at the beach when he started experiencing discomfort in his ear. Concerned, his mother sought medical assistance and took him to a local health center.
During the examination, medical staff used tweezers to carefully extract a small green crab from Pedro’s ear, despite the critter missing a leg and attempting to escape post-removal. The footage shows Pedro visibly distressed, covered in sand and water, as the medical team worked to remove the crab.
Despite the unsettling incident, Pedro’s hearing remained unharmed, and his safety was the primary concern throughout the process. Kitzia Mitre emphasized the importance of promptly seeking medical attention to prevent potential infections or damage to the ear drum from foreign objects, especially living ones.
Health experts caution beachgoers to be vigilant about the risk of small creatures, shells, or debris entering ears, particularly after swimming or being near shallow water. Pedro is now recuperating, with his mother confirming that he is doing well following the ordeal.
