Two individuals successfully ascended to the summit of the Empire State Building in New York City, where they displayed a large banner, culminating in a marriage proposal witnessed by onlookers. The duo, identified as a man and a woman, donned masks as they made their way up the broadcast aerial atop the renowned structure. Reaching the pinnacle of the antenna, towering at 443 meters (1,454 feet) above New York’s bustling streets, they unveiled a sizable banner bearing the message: “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace,” as per CBS news. Following their daring feat, the pair commenced their descent down the radio and television transmission tower. Upon reaching a lower platform, the man knelt down, symbolically proposing to the woman who reciprocated with a heartfelt embrace and a kiss, removing her mask in the process. Subsequently, a police helicopter was dispatched to the location, and by around 12:35 pm local time, the duo began their descent. Initially observed by a crowd on the observation deck below the mast and platform where the proposal took place, the area was eventually evacuated for safety reasons.
