Authorities are currently searching for a convicted sex offender who was recently released from prison.
Darren Inkpen received a five-year jail sentence in 2020 and was mandated to register as a sex offender for life. During his sentencing at Newcastle Crown Court, Inkpen peculiarly expressed concern that his sentence might hinder his ability to attend miniature horse exhibitions, as reported by LeedsLive.
The 55-year-old Inkpen was released from prison on November 13, 2025. He was supposed to stay at a Leeds hotel but failed to provide an address and missed his probation appointment, violating the Sex Offenders’ Register notification regulations. West Yorkshire Police have initiated a search for him.
Authorities indicated that Inkpen has ties to the Kent and Sussex regions, speculating that he could be in the Broadstairs area of Kent or Newhaven in Sussex. The police stated: “Police are seeking assistance in locating Darren Inkpen, who is wanted for breaching the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders’ Register.
“Inkpen, aged 55, was released from prison on November 13 and was scheduled to lodge at a Leeds hotel. However, he failed to register an address and missed a probation appointment.
