A 13-year-old girl named Lily Kennedy tragically lost her life in a devastating house fire that occurred near Ashford, Kent. Lily’s aunt described her as a beloved “princess” in a heartfelt tribute, expressing her grief by saying, “Rest in peace sweet girl Xx.”

Lily’s father has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support a close friend who lost his vibrant 13-year-old daughter in the fire. He appealed to the community for donations, emphasizing the need to give Lily a deserving farewell.

A family friend, Aeryn Gower, shared a touching tribute on social media, reminiscing about Lily’s cheerful demeanor and fondly recalling her visits to play. Lily’s next of kin have been notified of her tragic passing.

The father, Chris Kennedy, is known as an enthusiastic amateur footballer and operates a small media production company, while the mother, Annemarie Childs, works as a tutor for vulnerable adults. Ms. Childs posted several pictures of herself and Lily on social media following the heartbreaking incident.

The area surrounding the burned family home remains cordoned off, with a police presence. Kent Fire and Rescue Service deployed six fire engines and a height vehicle to combat the intense blaze that engulfed the residence.

Despite neighbors’ attempts to intervene before the arrival of fire crews, the flames proved too fierce. The aftermath depicted the home’s charred remains, with Christmas decorations in the front garden deflated.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that all remaining hot spots at the scene have been extinguished, with ongoing efforts to secure the property structurally. An investigation into the fire’s cause is underway, with condolences extended to all those affected by the tragic event.
