Center Parcs is set to establish its inaugural resort in Scotland following the approval of planning permission by local authorities. CEO Colin McKinlay expressed his delight at the recent development, stating that the Scottish Borders Council has granted conditional planning authorization for the establishment of Center Parcs Scottish Borders.
McKinlay conveyed his appreciation for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm received over the past year, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to bring the renowned holiday destination to Scotland. The new site, to be named Center Parcs Scottish Borders, will offer guests the opportunity to revel in the picturesque scenery of rolling hills, expansive countryside, historic residences, impressive castles, and a rich array of wildlife, as highlighted by Center Parcs.
Construction of the facility is slated to commence in 2026, with recruitment of staff scheduled to begin in 2028. The site is anticipated to be operational by the summer of 2029, according to McKinlay. He reassured the community of ongoing engagement by committing to hosting regular drop-in events to provide updates, address inquiries, and maintain connections with the local area.
