Two British tourists were viciously attacked and rendered unconscious while vacationing in Spain. Police have apprehended two individuals and are actively seeking others involved in the unprovoked assault that took place in Magaluf on the island of Mallorca.
The victims, aged 30 and 31, were found unconscious near a nightclub situated on the bustling strip of bars and nightlife establishments. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the injured Britons or their genders.
The two suspects in custody are both 19 years old and have been charged with causing serious bodily harm. The incident transpired in the early hours of Sunday when the assailants, including two unidentified individuals, allegedly assaulted the British tourists, resulting in severe injuries that rendered them unconscious.
Following the assault, the Civil Guard launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits. The perpetrators were located and arrested on Tuesday at a holiday residence in Calvià. The arrested individuals are of Swiss nationality, and efforts are ongoing to locate and capture the remaining suspects involved in the attack.
The resort has been plagued by fights and antisocial behavior in recent years, but there have been improvements in its image over the last two holiday seasons.
