A British tourist, Ethan Lacey, was critically injured in Thailand after being hit by a truck, leading his mother to make the difficult decision to remove his life support. Ethan fell off a moving pickup truck in Pattaya, and doctors advised his parents that his condition was not expected to improve. Despite this, Ethan’s life support was taken off on May 27, and he has now been moved to a palliative care ward.

Following a CT scan and evaluation, medical professionals informed Ethan’s family that his chances of recovery were slim, with the only probable outcome being a life confined to a bed. Consequently, his parents agreed to cease active treatment, transitioning Ethan to palliative care. Despite the initial prognosis, Ethan is currently breathing on his own, prompting his family to explore options for repatriation to the UK, which comes with a substantial cost.

The incident occurred in Pattaya, where Ethan was last seen at a nightclub before the unfortunate accident. His parents, Kerry and Kevin, rushed to his side in Thailand once they received news of the crash. Ethan had been traveling in Bangkok and Pattaya, visiting a relative before the incident took place.

The family is now actively working on bringing Ethan back to the UK, but the expenses involved are significant. Despite the challenging circumstances, Ethan’s unexpected progress has given hope to his loved ones.
