The girlfriend of a British soldier has provided an important update following her partner’s severe injuries in a quad bike accident in Greece that resulted in him being placed in a coma.
Army Reservist Ethan Jones, aged 21, from Bradford, sustained significant injuries in the incident on the island of Rhodes. Reports indicate that the quad bike he was riding collided with a bollard. Ethan was on holiday in Greece with his girlfriend Olivia Allsopp at the time of the crash.
Although the exact details of the accident remain unclear, Olivia has shared information on Ethan’s progress in the hospital. She mentioned that Ethan is slowly showing signs of improvement as doctors are gradually reducing the sedation keeping him in a coma. Additionally, his oxygen levels have been lowered from 50% to 40%, indicating improved independent breathing.
Ethan is currently in a coma due to serious head injuries sustained during the crash. Olivia has launched a fundraising campaign to cover the costs of bringing Ethan back to the UK, which has raised approximately £23,000 so far.
Olivia has stated that Ethan was transferred to an ICU unit in Crete, and she is making efforts to reach him despite facing restrictions on accompanying him.
