Investigators have made a heartbreaking discovery in the search for a young man who went missing on Christmas day. Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the quest for Oliver Davey, a 20-year-old who was reported missing on December 25.
The discovery took place in the Holker Street area of Barrow, just before 1:45 pm on Sunday, according to Cumbria Police. Although formal identification is pending, authorities have notified Oliver Davey’s family about the finding.
Oliver was reported missing from Barrow on Christmas Day, prompting an extensive search effort for him. A spokesperson from Cumbria Police stated, “A man’s body has been discovered in Barrow. The body was located earlier this afternoon (December 28) in the Holker Street vicinity around 1:45 pm. The family of Oliver Davey, who was reported missing, has been contacted.”
In an earlier appeal for assistance, Cumbria Police provided descriptions of Oliver’s attire when he was last seen, which included a royal blue North Face fleece, black LUKE jogging bottoms, a black Armani T-shirt, and black Nike 95 shoes. Oliver, standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, has a slim build and dark brown hair.
