A male body was discovered on the premises of an infant school in Leicestershire.
The individual was found on Townend Road, the same location as Barwell Infant School in Barwell, near Hinckley, early on Thursday morning. Authorities from Leicestershire Police responded to a body report just after 7:30 a.m. Emergency services arrived, and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to LeicestershireLive, the school is situated on a serene residential street. Witnesses observed two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) guarding the entrance while uniformed officers and forensic teams entered the premises.
A local resident shared, “It’s typically a peaceful street, you can hear the children during their breaks but not much else happens. I looked out my window at the usual time and saw police cars and an ambulance.” Residents mentioned no sirens were heard in the morning, but witnessed the emergency vehicles at the location.
A spokesperson from the police stated, “A report was received around 7:30 a.m. today (Thursday, 27 November) regarding the discovery of a man’s body on Townend Road, Barwell. Emergency services arrived, and the man was declared deceased at the scene.
