According to National Highways, the A27 was shut down in both directions between the A259 west near Chichester and A259 east near Emsworth due to an incident led by the police. Sussex Police were present at the scene to manage the situation, causing delays for motorists overnight.
Fortunately, the A27 has since been reopened for traffic flow in both directions between the A259 east near Chichester and A259 west near Emsworth following the police-led incident. A representative from National Highways expressed gratitude for drivers’ patience and wished them a safe journey ahead.
For reference, drivers heading westbound are advised to follow the route indicated by a Hollow Triangle symbol on local road signs, while eastbound travelers should adhere to the path marked by a Hollow Diamond symbol on local road signs.
