“Leyte Earthquake Triggers Panic and Destruction”

A massive 6.8 magnitude earthquake has struck Leyte, Philippines, prompting a significant alert for residents after the powerful tremor hit the Asian islands. The earthquake is reported to have occurred underwater around 10 pm local time, impacting various structures, including a church in Bantayan town.

Footage has surfaced showing the church collapsing, with the cross falling to the ground as onlookers can be heard screaming and fleeing in different directions. Additionally, an influencer, Sam Pepper, was filming a live stream at a restaurant when the earthquake struck, causing him to abruptly halt the broadcast and evacuate with other patrons.

In another incident, a video captured models pausing on the runway as the building shook, eliciting panic among individuals present. The earthquake, with a magnitude close to 7, has raised concerns about a potential localized tsunami and has prompted warnings to residents nationwide.
