For many, Easter is not complete without having a chocolate treat to nibble on throughout the weekend-long holiday, with chocolate eggs usually arriving in supermarkets months before holiday even begins.
As the Easter weekend is finally here, you might be panicking after realising you’ve left the Easter chocolate shop until the very last minute. But fear not! While the price of chocolate Easter eggs have soared, people are praising Marks & Spencer for their simple shopping hack where you can get a chocolate bundle filled with different kinds of sweet treats that won’t cost a fortune.
It’s well-known that M&S bring out amazing chocolate Easter treats each and every year. And this year, they’re struggling to keep certain ones in stock thanks to their popularity
The Marks and Spencer team took to their Instagram page to share how you can make your own festive Easter bundle filled with chocolate and sweets for under £20.
“Looking for the perfect Easter gift? Why not make a little M&S Easter bundle in store for under £20!” they wrote in the caption of the video.
Taking a shopping basket for all their goodies, the walked straight to the Easter chocolate aisle to pick up the goodies for their hamper, starting with the £3.75 Chipper Chip, a small chick made completely from white chocolate.
And what is an M&S visit without picking up some Colin treats. Here, they decided to pick up a bag of Colin Woodland Egg-venture sweets for £2 a bag.
They also decided on a Hoppy Easter Egg Hunt Tin for £7 which is filled with eight milk chocolate eggs, and a chocolate lollipop. And it also makes for a perfect tin to use to collect Easter egg in.
Next up was a bag of Speckled chocolate eggs for £1.75, which has been praised to be even better than Cadbury’s Mini Eggs, and a pack of four Extremely Chocolatey Hot Cross Buns for £2. They also added a £1 caramel egg before heading to the till to pay.
In total for the whole bundle, they spent £17.50 for chocolate and sweets that will for sure last for the whole of Easter weekend.
Despite the supermarket’s clever hack, shoppers didn’t seem too convinced they’d be able to recreate due to the supermarket struggling to keep some of the popular products on their shelves.
However another person said: “That’s if any of its still in stock my local m&s has hardly anything easter for past 2 weeks.”
“Never have any stock when you get there. Show all these lovmey easter goodies and easter eggs but no stock,” a second person wrote.
A third person said: “It’s a shame not able to for the same for those with milk allergy.”
