Barbara, a former accountant aged 72, relocated to Granada, Spain, from London in pursuit of milder weather and increased sunshine. However, she has expressed remorse over her choice due to the scorching temperatures confining her indoors.
The extreme heat has prompted Barbara to contemplate a move to Portugal to evade the blazing weather and wildfire threats, rather than returning to the UK, which, though facing its own wildfire risks, does not experience the same severe conditions as Spain and France presently do.
Barbara explained her reluctance to go back to the UK, citing her lack of family and the passing of her husband and closest friends.
