Essex Police are currently conducting an investigation following an incident where several men forcibly took a teenage girl into a vehicle and drove away with her.
The event occurred on Wednesday, August 3, just after 6:50 pm in Church Langley, Essex. The girl was coerced into a car and transported to Epping. Fortunately, she was able to escape from the vehicle and find safety approximately 40 minutes after the distressing occurrence began.
Authorities are now requesting individuals who were in the vicinity at the time to provide any pertinent information. The suspects involved in the incident are described as white males dressed in tracksuits.
A spokesperson from Essex Police stated, “Detectives are looking into an episode that took place in Harlow on the evening of Monday, August 3. We received a report of a teenage girl being forced into a vehicle in Church Langley and driven to Epping, where she managed to flee from the car. The incident commenced in the Minton Lane car park near Tesco at around 6:50 pm.”
“The vehicle proceeded to Epping, and the victim succeeded in exiting the car at Buckingham Road, at the junction with Lower Swaines at 7:30 pm, where she sought assistance. The girl is now safe with her family and is receiving support from specialized officers. Fortunately, she did not sustain any severe injuries.”
“Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed the events in Church Langley or Epping to come forward promptly. The girl, who is white with blond hair, was dressed in a black top, black shorts, white socks, and trainers. The vehicle involved is believed to be a black car, and the suspects are reported to be white males wearing tracksuits.”
Detective Sergeant Paul Marks commented, “We understand that this incident may provoke worry among the public. We are actively working to identify the vehicle and the individuals linked to this event. If you were present at either location that evening, please review your dashcam or CCTV footage.”
