A major DIY chain will open three new branches in a major pre-Easter relaunch tomorrow.
Former Homebase stores are reopening under The Range banner after the chain was placed on administration by former owners Hilco and sold onwards to CDS Superstores – which acquired 48 stores and its website – B&Q, and Wilco in 2024. CDS will reopen three of the former Homebase stores which closed earlier this year, and they will resume trading as The Range in time for the Easter rush for home improvements. They are among around 70 Homebase stores which were rescued when the chain went into administration in November last year.
Up until now 36 former Homebase stores have reopened under new branding, including three which opened last week. Now, three more are set to reopen on Good Friday – in Sevenoaks, Kent, Bishop’s Stortford, in Hertfordshire and Portlaoise, in County Laoise, Ireland.
Most of the new outlets will be branded as The Range with Gardens Centres by Homebase.
They will be followed by four more former Homebase stores which will open as The Range the following Friday on April 25 in Haverfordwest, Drakehouse Park, Sheffield, Rayleigh Weir and Dublin Nutgrove.
Two others are scheduled for next month – with one set to open in Market Harborough on May 2 and in Clitheroe, Lancashire on May 16.
