Liz Truss criticized her own political party, accusing it of being “ideologically captured” by “DEI” and labeling business individuals who shied away from politics as “cowards.”

Her remarks were delivered during a passionate speech at CPAC GB, a UK version of the influential American pro-Trump conference she is currently hosting in London. Truss expressed discontent over the frequent turnover of British Prime Ministers, pointing out that the country had seen seven PMs in the past decade, likening it to a struggling football team changing managers without improving gameplay.

Highlighting that five of these Prime Ministers belonged to the Conservative Party, with her tenure being the briefest, Truss questioned the party’s alignment with true conservative values. She alleged that the party’s core had been overtaken by DEI without specifying the exact timeline of this occurrence.

Emphasizing the need for new “parallel institutions” and “parallel media” to counter perceived left-wing bias in the civil service, Truss called on successful individuals from finance or cryptocurrency backgrounds to enter politics and take charge of key institutions like immigration, foreign affairs, and law enforcement.

Challenging those hesitant to join her cause, Truss urged them to prioritize national interests over personal gains, criticizing their reluctance as cowardice. She hinted at revealing names of potential supporters in the future while acknowledging the risks associated with political involvement.

Despite a modest turnout at her CPAC GB event, Truss’s message has sparked internal strife within the Conservative Party regarding collaboration with Reform party members. Notably, a speech by Andrew Griffith, a shadow cabinet member, at the conference stirred controversy for not being pre-approved by Kemi Badenoch’s office.

Truss also made predictions about the future political landscape, speculating that Andy Burnham might not lead the Labour Party into the next General Election, foreseeing financial challenges and societal stagnation under progressive governance. Expressing concerns about COVID-19 restrictions, she criticized the public’s compliance and surveillance culture during the pandemic.

Truss’s bold statements and calls for a right-wing “counter-revolution” have stirred debate within political circles, setting the stage for potential shifts in the UK’s political landscape.
