A mother tragically passed away at a doctor’s office after waiting several days for an appointment, an inquest revealed. Jaqueline Watkins, 66, had been feeling unwell and sought medical attention from her GP practice. Despite being scheduled for a later appointment, she collapsed while waiting at the clinic. Medical staff at Llanyravon Surgery in South Wales tried to save her but she was pronounced dead.
Ms. Watkins, a dog lover from Llanyravon, had contacted the surgery earlier that week and was given a Thursday appointment. Her family raised concerns about potential lapses in her care. A post-mortem examination did not determine the cause of death. The family expressed the need for more clarity on the care provided.
Rose Farmer, the area coroner for Gwent, announced that an inquest will take place in the coming year. Ms. Watkins was remembered as a kind lady by her loved ones. Her daughter mentioned the shock of losing her mother, who had been with her partner for 26 years. The hearing was adjourned for further investigations.
