A 22-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a skydiving incident at Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire Police responded to the scene promptly after a call at 12:13 pm on Sunday, where the woman was discovered in a nearby field and pronounced deceased. Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed during the incident.
The woman’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers while a report is being prepared for the coroner’s investigation. Detective Inspector Rachel Mayfield expressed condolences, stating that efforts are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. The police have urged anyone with pertinent information to contact 101 and reference incident number 306 dated July 5.
Skydive Langar expressed deep sorrow over the incident involving an experienced skydiver at their facility. The entire team extended their condolences and support to the victim’s family, friends, and the affected community. They assured full cooperation with the authorities and requested privacy during this difficult time.

Established in 1942 as an RAF base during World War II, Langar Airfield currently hosts Skydive Langar, the UK’s busiest civilian skydiving center. The facility conducts over 50,000 jumps annually using a fleet of three turbine-powered aircraft, including two Cessna Grand Caravans and one standard Cessna Caravan.
