A man who miraculously revived after being taken off life support has shared his profound experience of what he encountered on “the other side”. Gene Long, aged 33, expressed doubts about the existence of God before his extraordinary ordeal unfolded.
Struggling with severe diabetes, addiction, and homelessness, Gene slipped into a two-month-long coma, with doctors giving him just a one percent chance of survival. Faced with bleak prospects, his family made the agonizing decision to terminate life support, prepare for organ donation, and arrange his funeral.
However, against all odds, Gene awoke over an hour later with no signs of illness. “There were 30 people in my room ready to bid farewell,” recalled the construction worker. “All my loved ones were there, and my parents had just made the heartbreaking decision to let me go.”
Gene’s journey began in 2020, marked by a struggle with meth and fentanyl addiction that led to homelessness. Despite his parents’ efforts to intervene, Gene felt trapped in a destructive cycle, feeling as though his life had already reached its end.
Neglecting his health, Gene’s blood sugar spiked dangerously high to 1,900, triggering a seizure that caused him to fall and suffer a brain hemorrhage. Upon regaining consciousness, he found himself surrounded by a vibrant sea of energy, feeling a sense of belonging and peace.
Encountering a figure resembling his late grandfather, Gene felt drawn towards the being, only to realize it was the Holy Spirit radiating boundless love and light. Despite the lack of verbal communication, Gene felt a profound understanding and acceptance that transcended human language.
After this surreal experience, Gene was abruptly brought back to reality in the hospital, defying medical expectations. Despite facing a challenging recovery journey, Gene aims to inspire others who may feel they have hit rock bottom, emphasizing that there is hope for a brighter future beyond dark times.
Since his return, Gene has remained drug-free, attributing his transformation to a newfound appreciation for life and the second chance he was given. Despite enduring physical challenges post-revival, Gene remains grateful for the opportunity to share his story and offer hope to those facing adversity.
