A pregnant woman had to undergo induced labor following a brutal attack by two dogs. Renee Wilson suffered severe injuries while defending her chihuahua from the aggressive canines. Authorities were alerted to the presence of two unleashed dogs in Washington State, US, on Thursday, June 25, around 11 am.

Renee was swiftly taken to a local hospital in stable condition and later transferred to Tacoma General Hospital, where she is recuperating from her wounds and an infection resulting from the assault by the dangerous dogs.

The mother of three was carrying her baby’s car seat to her car when she noticed the dogs approaching her chihuahua, Katie Girl. In an attempt to protect her pet, Renee intervened and was viciously attacked by the dogs, sustaining bites on her arm and abdomen.

During the ordeal, one of the dogs pulled her down by her hair while she cried out for help. Neighbors came to her aid upon hearing her distress calls, with one man using a broom and a fearful woman stepping in to assist.

In a harrowing moment, Renee pleaded for help, emphasizing her pregnancy as one of the dogs targeted her belly. Medical professionals induced labor after the incident, resulting in the safe birth of her son, Armani, who was originally due on the day of the attack.

Despite spending time with her newborn over the weekend, Renee remains hospitalized until she regains mobility and the infection subsides. The two dogs responsible for the attack, an American pit bull terrier and an American bully, escaped through a damaged fence that their owners were aware of.

Law enforcement secured the animals at the scene and they are currently under quarantine by Tacoma Animal Control for the standard 10-day period. Subsequently, both dogs were classified as “dangerous” by animal control officers, with the owners given a 10-day window to contest the decision before a judge.

If unsuccessful, the dogs could face euthanasia. The owners are also confronting misdemeanor charges for negligence in licensing the dogs and allowing them to roam freely, resulting in fines totaling $2,000. Renee intends to pursue legal action against the owners of the dogs.
