Sixteen passengers have been prohibited from sailing with Carnival Cruise Line after a violent altercation broke out among travelers waiting in a customs line. The incident occurred on Monday, June 22, at 8 am when the Carnival Conquest ship arrived at Port Miami, Florida, following a trip to the Bahamas.

Video footage captured the moment when passengers engaged in physical altercations. The confrontation allegedly began with two women, one in a black strapless dress and another in polka dot pajamas, exchanging punches. Subsequently, a third woman in a yellow and white maxi-dress joined the scuffle, grabbing one of the women by the hair.

The situation escalated as more individuals, both men and women, got involved, causing chaos while US Customs and Border Protection officers tried to restore order. Luggage and personal belongings were thrown around, and at one point, a man was seen wielding a stanchion above his head amid screams from onlookers.

The brawl eventually subsided after several minutes, with the cause of the confrontation between the two families remaining unclear. Despite the incident, no arrests were made as both parties chose not to press charges.

As a result of the altercation, Carnival Cruise Lines placed 16 individuals on their “Do Not Sail List.” The company emphasized that the incident took place under the jurisdiction of US Customs and Border Patrol and commended law enforcement for their swift response in handling the situation.

This incident comes on the heels of a previous altercation on another Carnival cruise ship, where two women faced federal court citations for simple assault. They were informed by US magistrate Judge Bert Milling Jr that their case could be dropped if they refrained from contact with each other for three months. The final ruling on this matter is scheduled for August 12.
