An 11-year-old boy was hospitalized in Blackburn after sustaining a stab wound in his back, with another 11-year-old being apprehended in connection to the incident.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded to a stabbing report in the Fishmoor Drive area of Blackburn, Lancashire, around 7 pm on Monday. The victim was transported to the hospital with a back puncture wound, as reported by LancsLive.
The 11-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail pending further investigation. Police confirmed that the victim’s injury, initially perceived as severe, was not life-threatening.
A Lancashire Constabulary spokesperson stated, “We received a stabbing report in the Fishmoor Drive area of Blackburn shortly before 7 pm yesterday. The 11-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with a single back puncture wound.”
“The injury, fortunately, turned out to be less severe than initially feared and not life-threatening. Another 11-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed for further inquiries.”
