A mother phoned her partner to share her unusual feelings, only to find out she has a limited time left to live. Michelle Shoveller, a 42-year-old carer from Sittingbourne, Kent, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a severe form of brain tumor, after experiencing vertigo as her only symptom.
Her partner, Lee Cuzner, became concerned when Michelle called him from work feeling unwell. Upon arriving at her location, he found her in a critical condition, leading to emergency medical intervention.
Following a series of medical tests, Michelle was confirmed to have a brain tumor, initially uncertain if it was cancerous. Subsequent surgery removed most of the tumor, but a small portion quickly regrew, surpassing the original size.
The devastating news came when doctors declared Michelle’s condition terminal, giving her a year to 18 months to live. Determined to create lasting memories, the family visited Disneyland Paris for a final holiday together. However, Michelle’s health deteriorated, necessitating further medical procedures and ongoing end-of-life care.
Michelle, now experiencing partial paralysis, is undergoing experimental treatment funded by the family through a GoFundMe page. Despite the challenges, Michelle remains determined to engage in activities, supported by Lee, her partner of 28 years, who remains by her side through this difficult journey.
