A man’s alleged intrusion into a primary school with a brick has led to a lockdown situation, causing concern among school staff and students. St Marks R C Primary School on Queensway in Salford’s Clifton area was surrounded by several police vehicles as children were escorted out.

Reports from Manchester Evening News indicate the presence of a crime scene investigation van parked outside the school. A parent expressed distress upon hearing about the incident and rushing to the school around 10:30 am.

According to Greater Manchester Police, the man involved was taken to the hospital. The police responded to a welfare concern on Queensway in Swinton at approximately 10 am. The man, possibly experiencing a medical issue, entered the school grounds with a brick, alarming staff and students and causing damage to a window. The situation was swiftly managed by officers, ensuring no harm to the school community. As a precaution, the school decided to close for the day and send the students home.
