Britons can expect hot weather with temperatures reaching 30C in some parts of the UK as per the latest forecasts. Nine counties are projected to experience temperatures of 28C or higher in the upcoming days following a period of cool and wet conditions. The increase in temperature is attributed to a high-pressure system moving in from the south.

According to BBC weather forecaster Tomasz Schafernaker, a shift to warmer and sunnier weather is anticipated after a spell of cloudy and rainy days. The southward wind flow will bring warm air from France, leading to brighter and more pleasant conditions for most regions.

The peak of the hot weather is predicted to hit the UK on June 19, with temperatures soaring in the south east and moving northwards through East Anglia. Counties such as Lincolnshire, Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, and London are expected to experience temperatures of at least 28C. However, regions further north and west are likely to remain cooler.

Southern England is set to receive the highest temperatures, while the southwest, Wales, and Scotland can expect milder mid-teen temperatures. Central and northern England may see temperatures rising above 20C and reaching the mid-20Cs in certain areas.

The Met Office’s forecast from June 19 to 26 suggests that high pressure will dominate the weather pattern towards the end of the week. While unsettled weather with occasional heavy rain is expected earlier in the week, conditions are likely to become drier and more settled later on. Above-normal temperatures are anticipated, particularly in the southeast, where it could become very warm or even hot.

The weather outlook remains uncertain regarding the extent of the warm air spreading northwards. Despite potential weather fronts and low pressure systems, a shift towards dry and settled conditions is expected, with warm temperatures prevailing, especially in the southeast.
