The mother of Barnaby Webber has honored her son in a poignant message, vowing for justice three years after the tragic Nottingham attacks. Barnaby and Grace O’Malley-Kumar, along with caretaker Ian Coates, were fatally stabbed on June 13, 2023. Families of the victims have commemorated their loved ones in different ways while coping with their profound loss.

Emma Webber, Barnaby’s mother, shared several photos of her son, urging others to remember his bright spirit taken by a heinous act. She expressed her determination for accountability, not just for Barnaby but also for Grace and Ian.

Following her post, a wave of supportive messages flooded in on social media platforms. Mrs. Webber sought a meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, criticizing the current legal outcome of Valdo Calocane, who admitted to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility. An inquiry into the killings is ongoing and expected to reveal its findings next year.

Mrs. Webber highlighted the flaws in the legal process, emphasizing the need for a rigorous investigation into Calocane’s background and actions leading up to the tragedy. She demanded a meeting with government officials to ensure that justice is served and that accountability is not evaded due to legal technicalities.

An independent NHS review pointed out failures in Calocane’s care, prompting apologies from healthcare officials. However, victims’ families expressed dissatisfaction with the delayed acknowledgment, emphasizing the impact of negligence on their lives.
