A federal judge in the US has denied a request to halt a UFC event planned for the South Lawn of the White House this weekend. The event was scheduled to celebrate both the nation’s 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.

The decision came after two Virginia residents filed a lawsuit against the President, arguing that the administration exceeded its authority by choosing the White House lawn as the venue for the mixed martial arts event. However, District Judge Amit Mehta ruled that the plaintiffs lacked legal standing to challenge the event and did not demonstrate that they would suffer irreparable harm from it taking place as planned.

Judge Mehta also highlighted the plaintiffs’ delay in filing the lawsuit, pointing out that the UFC fight date had been known for quite some time. He stated that the delayed legal action undermined their claims of potential harm.
