King Charles is facing a potential scheduling conflict on the day of his official birthday parade. The annual Trooping the Colour event, featuring a grand military parade and a Buckingham Palace flypast, is scheduled for Saturday. The King will be accompanied by all working family members, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Simultaneously, on the same day, the funeral of Lady Pamela Hicks, a close friend of Charles’ late mother, is set to take place. Lady Pamela, who passed away at 97 last week and was a bridesmaid at Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding to Prince Philip in 1947, will be laid to rest. Following her death announcement, a spokesperson for the King expressed deep sadness and admiration for Lady Pamela’s warmth and wit.

Lady Pamela’s funeral is scheduled for 3 pm at a church in Oxfordshire, raising uncertainty about royal family members attending due to the scheduling clash with Trooping the Colour, ending at 1 pm. Lady Pamela, born in April 1929 and daughter of Lord Mountbatten, had a significant role in the Royal Family, serving as a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth and maintaining close ties with the monarchy throughout her life.

Despite facing personal tragedies, including the loss of her husband to lung cancer in 1998, Lady Pamela remained a cherished figure within the Royal Family. As the oldest living descendant of Queen Victoria, she attended significant royal events, including the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. Her life and connections to the royal lineage were detailed in memoirs she published.

Lady Pamela’s legacy, intertwined with the history of the Royal Family, continues to be remembered and honored by those who knew her.
