In a recent Oval Office event, Donald Trump was observed appearing to drift off to sleep multiple times, reigniting discussions about his fitness for the presidential office. The US president, soon to turn 80, was captured on video reclining in his chair with closed eyes during a session announcing a significant financial boost to the coal industry. Clips circulated online seemingly showing him nodding off while Energy Secretary Chris Wright delivered remarks.

This incident followed remarks by Secretary of State Marco Rubio denying witnessing Trump dozing off and raising concerns about his lack of sleep. Meanwhile, during a congressional hearing, Democratic Rep Ted Lieu confronted Rubio with videos allegedly depicting Trump napping during official meetings and ceremonies. The exchange led to a heated debate, with Lieu accusing Rubio of dishonesty.

Adding to the ongoing speculation about Trump’s health, Representative Yassamin Ansari criticized the president for reportedly dozing off during official duties, calling for invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office due to alleged health concerns. This call comes after previous concerns raised over Trump’s well-being, fueled by images showing physical issues and recent reports of health-related incidents.

Trump, however, defended his health status following a recent medical check-up that he claimed showed everything to be in perfect order. Despite the White House delaying the release of the results, Trump’s physician, US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, assured the public that the president remains in excellent health with robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical functions.

Nevertheless, some prominent medical professionals have cast doubt on the report, pointing out alleged gaps and omissions. Dr. William Shutze, a Texas vascular surgeon, expressed skepticism about the overly positive assessment given Trump’s age, suggesting the report may not provide a complete picture of his health.
