President Donald Trump announced plans to address the situation in Cuba, suggesting the nation had experienced a collapse. He mentioned the possibility of U.S. forces making a stop in Cuba once the conflict in Iran concludes.

During a speech at the White House, Trump expressed concerns about Cuba’s current state, indicating that the U.S. would intervene after dealing with matters in the Middle East. He stated, “It’s sort of collapsed. And we’re gonna handle that as soon as we finish.”

Trump emphasized the need to focus on one issue at a time, stating that after addressing the situation in Iran, a brief stopover in Cuba could be expected. Reports in May revealed that Trump had instructed the Pentagon to prepare for potential actions against Cuba amid challenges in his Iran strategy.

According to a recent Politico report, the likelihood of a U.S. military intervention in Cuba has increased, with the U.S. Southern Command engaging in strategic planning sessions. Discussions have shifted towards considering military action due to Cuba’s resistance and the complications in dealing with Iran.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel cautioned against any U.S. aggression, warning of dire consequences for regional stability. Trump previously predicted Cuba’s downfall, highlighting the impact of cutting off key resources from the country.

Sanctions have been imposed on Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and associated individuals and entities by the U.S. Treasury Department, targeting key figures and organizations, including the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.

The situation continues to evolve, with tensions rising between the U.S. and Cuba, signaling a potential escalation in the near future.
