Princess Diana expressed her desire for her sons, William and Harry, to engage in more meaningful communication. This sentiment was conveyed in a two-page letter she wrote in November 1995 to a supporter named Michael Barrett following the BBC Panorama interview.

In the heartfelt letter, Diana expressed gratitude for Barrett’s supportive words and emphasized the importance of deep communication with her sons, William and Harry. She concluded the letter with thanks and signed it as “Yours sincerely, Diana.”

The letter, which is set to be auctioned by Reeman Dansies ‘Royalty, Antiques & Fine Art,” is expected to fetch between £3,000 and £4,000. Diana tragically passed away in a car accident in Paris in August 1997 at the age of 36.

Scheduled for auction on June 9, this significant handwritten letter by H.R.H. Diana, Princess of Wales, discusses her Panorama interview and reflects on moving forward in life. Diana appreciated Barrett’s supportive letter and looked forward to teaching her sons the importance of deep communication.

Barrett, deeply moved by Diana’s response to his letter, had shared his thoughts on the challenges of moving on and finding hope, prompting Diana’s heartfelt reply. In 2024, a release of emails shed light on the scandal surrounding Martin Bashir’s Panorama interview with Diana. Bashir, accused of deceiving Diana and her brother Charles Spencer to secure the interview, departed from the BBC in May 2021 due to health reasons.

The same year, an investigation found Bashir guilty of dishonesty and breaching BBC editorial standards.
