Henry Nowak’s murderer’s father shielded his face with a notepad upon arriving at court to face weapons charges. Moga Singh, aged 52, stood in court alongside his sons Gurpreet Digwa, 27, and Vickrum Digwa, 23. They were accused of possessing various offensive weapons, including a flick knife, an extendable baton, knuckledusters, a machete, swords, and kusaris.
Gurpreet Digwa faced additional charges related to possessing offensive weapons in public places, including an asp, an air rifle, an axe, and a kirpan. This court appearance followed Vickrum Digwa’s sentencing to life in prison, with a minimum term of 21 years, for fatally stabbing 18-year-old Henry Nowak in Southampton last year.
During the proceedings at Southampton Magistrates Court, Natalie Angel, the prosecutor, requested more time to determine which charges to pursue against the defendants due to the recovery of multiple weapons in the case. The defense lawyer, Harmail Gill, asked for a four-week adjournment to allow both sides to review the charges thoroughly.
The magistrates, led by Jennifer Pitt, adjourned the case until July 9. Moga Singh and Gurpreet Digwa were released on unconditional bail, while Vickrum Digwa remained on technical bail due to his ongoing incarceration. The magistrates emphasized the importance of justice in carefully considering the charges before the next hearing.
Addressing Moga Singh and Gurpreet Digwa, Jennifer Pitt instructed them to appear in court at 1:30 pm. Vickrum Digwa was granted permission to attend the hearing via videolink from prison. The weapons offenses were reported to have occurred between December 4, 2025, and the day following Henry’s tragic death.
