Police in Warrington have initiated an extensive search and are requesting public assistance following the escape of a convicted drug kingpin from prison. Daniel Buckley was last seen at HMP Thorn Cross in Appleton on Saturday morning. Cheshire Police are actively investigating to locate the 37-year-old and are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
Described as 5′ 10″ tall, of medium build, with dark hair, Buckley was dressed in a grey t-shirt, grey jacket, black joggers, grey Nike trainers, and carrying a white shopping bag. He has ties to the Manchester area, specifically Failsworth and Openshaw. Buckley was sentenced to 16 years and four months in January 2024 for his significant involvement in an organized crime group, pleading guilty to various drug-related charges.
Detectives are pursuing multiple leads to find Buckley and urge anyone with information to contact Cheshire Police. Public sightings or information on his location should be reported to 999, quoting reference IML-2340086. It is advised that members of the public do not approach Buckley if seen but instead contact the authorities immediately.
