In a recent development, it appears that David Cameron’s unconventional consultant, despite being an oddity in California, is not expected to emerge victorious in the state’s Gubernatorial race. With Donald Trump currently less visible in public engagements, attention has shifted to the California primary.

The initial results of the California Primary may have caused a stir for some observers. Steve Hilton, a former advisor to David Cameron and current Fox News host, seemed to be leading early on in the polls. However, it is crucial to note that California’s vote counting process is notoriously slow. Furthermore, Democratic ballots, particularly postal votes, are still being tallied, potentially altering the outcome.

Traditionally, Republicans tend to vote in person, leading to early indications favoring Hilton. Nonetheless, the top two candidates from the primary will advance to the general election, regardless of party affiliation. This setup could benefit Democrats in other California midterm races by potentially discouraging Republican voter turnout if their preferred candidate is not on the ballot.

Moving on from the California political landscape, recent events in the realm of Trumpworld have garnered attention. Notably, Trump’s planned festival in Washington DC faced setbacks as several artists withdrew from the event, prompting Trump to opt for a rally instead. Additionally, Trump abandoned a controversial slush fund proposal following backlash from Senate members.

In another development, the firing of veteran journalist Scott Pelley from CBS News has raised eyebrows. Allegations suggest that Pelley’s dismissal may have been influenced by editorial interference and clashes with management, including claims of promoting falsehoods in reporting.

Furthermore, there are speculations surrounding a potential pardon for former congressman Steve Buyer, convicted of insider trading. Trump’s social media posts hint at a pardon consideration, fueling discussions on the matter.

On a different note, Trump’s “Secretary of War,” Pete Hegseth, faces criticism for allegedly impeding promotions for women and ethnic minorities within the military. The reported lack of diversity in promotion selections has raised concerns about bias in the selection process.

In a separate incident, Republican congressman Andy Ogles sparked controversy with a tweet denouncing homosexuality during Pride week, prompting condemnation from various quarters. Ogles later attributed the tweet to a staff member and expressed regret over the incident.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, these events underscore the ongoing dynamics within the US political sphere.
