Princess Kate is set to participate in a significant cancer research event in London tonight alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla. Kensington Palace revealed that the Princess of Wales will be collaborating with the monarch at the special gathering in honor of Cancer Research UK at St James’ Palace in London.
The event, hosted by King Charles as the patron of Cancer Research UK, commemorates the organization’s 125th anniversary and will bring together senior royals with researchers, clinicians, volunteers, and partners involved in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Charles, Camilla, and Kate will have the opportunity to explore immersive exhibits showcasing the charity’s work and visual representations demonstrating how technological advancements are revolutionizing cancer research.
Also in attendance will be the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, with the duke serving as a joint president of the charity. Both Charles and Kate had undisclosed cancer diagnoses in 2024, with the princess now in remission while the King continues to undergo treatment.
Kate received her cancer diagnosis early in 2024 and underwent chemotherapy, announcing her remission 16 months ago in January 2025. She shared her recovery journey in a World Cancer Day message in February 2026, highlighting the emotional challenges and moments of strength during the cancer experience.
Since her remission announcement, the Princess of Wales has gradually resumed her royal duties, recently embarking on her first international royal visit post-cancer to Italy as part of her early years initiatives.
While still receiving treatment for undisclosed cancer, King Charles remains active in his official duties, including a successful state visit to the US last month. Buckingham Palace confirmed positive responses to his medical treatment, allowing for a reduced care schedule starting in 2026.
Cancer Research UK is recognized for its crucial role in improving cancer survival rates, with the charity noting significant advancements driven by research and clinical care over the past 50 years.
