A tragic accident on the A59 in Gisburn, Lancashire resulted in the death of a five-year-old girl and serious injuries to three others last Thursday afternoon. The collision involved a Skoda Karoq and a VW Golf R, with the Skoda driver, a woman in her 60s, and two young passengers, a five-year-old girl, and a boy, sustaining severe injuries.

The Lancashire Police confirmed the heartbreaking news of the young girl’s passing on Tuesday. The family is receiving support from trained officers during this difficult time. The Skoda driver and the boy passenger are still hospitalized for their injuries, while the VW Golf R driver, a man in his 20s, is also hospitalized with serious injuries and is assisting in the investigation as a witness.

Sgt Laura Kendall of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed her condolences to the girl’s family and emphasized the importance of refraining from speculation about the incident. She urged anyone with information or dashcam footage of the crash to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
