Toddler Injured Falling from Tameside Window

A toddler, aged two, sustained severe injuries after plunging from a residential window in Tameside. The child was swiftly transported to the hospital following the incident on Buttermere Road in Ashton-under-Lyne on a Saturday evening.

Reportedly, the injuries were critical, as per the Manchester Evening News. Notably, the local authorities, Greater Manchester Police, have confirmed that the situation is not regarded as suspicious, and no arrests have been executed.

The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Eyewitnesses observed a significant presence of ambulance crews at the location, with an air ambulance landing at Ashton Under Lyne church premises.

The Greater Manchester Police issued a statement, stating that they received a call at approximately 5:40 pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026, regarding a child falling from a house window on Buttermere Road. The child, a two-year-old boy, sustained life-threatening injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
