The family of a gifted schoolgirl has expressed heartfelt sentiments following her untimely passing at her residence. Adriana Retyte, aged 14, passed away two days after emergency responders rushed to her family home in Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk, around 10 pm on May 8. Reports from an inquest revealed that the teenager received CPR on-site before being taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where she later succumbed.

Adriana’s mother, Greta Sagger, aged 31, shared the news of her daughter’s demise on social media, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our beloved Adriana.” She extended gratitude to all who offered love, kindness, and support during this challenging period.

In a public statement on Facebook, it was mentioned that Adriana’s funeral is scheduled for the following day. Greta holds a managerial position at Strand Development Limited, her husband Ben Sagger’s property firm, which notably sponsors teams like the Taverham Toucans, a girls’ football squad that Adriana was part of.

Numerous tributes poured in for Adriana on a fundraising platform created in her honor, aiming to support the suicide prevention charity Papyrus. One contributor, Sofiia Katrechko, reflected on the page, “It is truly heartbreaking to lose someone so young, with a promising future ahead of her, prematurely.”

Born on February 27, 2012, in Drogheda, Ireland, Adriana was a Year 9 student at Langley School, located near Loddon, Norfolk. The school expressed deep sorrow over her passing, highlighting Adriana’s positive attributes, academic dedication, and significant involvement in various school activities.

Langley School emphasized the provision of necessary support for the affected community members and urged respect for the family’s privacy as they cope with the loss. An inquest into the circumstances surrounding Adriana’s death is slated for October 16 at 10 am.
