A young British traveler, Ethan Lacey, faces a 30% chance of survival if he remains on life support, as informed by doctors to his family. Lacey, aged 20 and hailing from Birmingham, was reported missing while journeying through Thailand. His family later discovered him in critical condition at a Bangkok hospital after sustaining severe injuries from a fall.

Reports from local sources indicate that Ethan suffered critical head injuries after falling from a moving pickup truck in Pattaya, which is approximately 90 miles away from Bangkok. Tragically, he was then run over by the truck’s rear wheel, resulting in severe head trauma.

To address the mounting medical expenses and support Ethan’s medical needs, his grandmother, Anthea Chatwin, initiated a GoFundMe campaign. The family has also shared details of his injuries and the substantial costs involved in his treatment. Ethan’s relatives have traveled to Thailand to be with him during this difficult time.

An update on the fundraising page mentioned that Ethan’s chances of survival, while on life support for two weeks, stand at 30%. The family is facing daily costs ranging from £800 to £1000 to maintain his care at the hospital. Their fundraising efforts have garnered over £2,200 at the current stage.

In an earlier update, Ms. Chatwin expressed gratitude for finding Ethan and highlighted the need for financial assistance to bring him back home, as his travel insurance had expired. The family is en route to Thailand to support him, emphasizing the importance of donations for his repatriation. Updates on Ethan’s condition will be provided as soon as the family reaches Thailand.
