The funeral service for a talented GAA player who tragically passed away in a serious road accident in Tipperary highlighted her love for “music,” “travel,” and “Camogie.” Laura Kennedy, aged 20, lost her life in a collision on the R495 Nenagh to Dromineer Road last Tuesday.

Mourners gathered at Ballywilliam Church in Tipperary to pay their respects. Laura’s coffin was draped with the Burgess-Duharra club flag, where she had excelled in every age category. Emotional tributes were shared during the service by her father, John, and her twin sister, Ashling.

Ashling described Laura as kind, intelligent, funny, and talented, excelling in everything she pursued. She reminisced about Laura’s fashion sense and academic prowess, highlighting their inseparable bond. John expressed deep sorrow over Laura’s untimely passing and praised the impact she and Ashling had on their lives.

He fondly recalled the joy Laura found in music, Camogie, and traveling, emphasizing the profound loss her absence brings. Tokens symbolizing Laura’s passions were displayed to honor her memory, and she was laid to rest at Monsea Graveyard.
