Football enthusiast Prince William was seen mingling with the players at Wembley Stadium ahead of the FA Cup final clash between Chelsea and Manchester City.

Prince William, a devoted fan of Aston Villa, is commemorating his 20th year as President and Patron of the Football Association (FA). He interacted with both teams in the tunnel before the game and is set to present the trophy to the victorious team at the conclusion of the match.

In recognition of his two-decade tenure as FA President, Prince William was gifted with a special England jersey bearing the number 20. He visited England manager Thomas Tuchel and his support staff at St George’s Park to show appreciation for their role in England’s upcoming World Cup campaign, which kicks off on June 17 against Croatia.

Among the spectators in the stands was renowned musician and ardent Manchester City supporter Noel Gallagher. Manchester City, led by manager Pep Guardiola, are aiming to secure a domestic cup double in today’s final. On the other side, Chelsea, under their third manager of the year Calum McFarlane, are looking to claim victory after managerial changes earlier in the season.

Prince William has a history of attending football matches with his eldest son, Prince George, with their last outing together being at the FA Cup final in 2024. Despite initially steering Prince George away from supporting Chelsea, Prince William has since adopted a more open-minded approach regarding his son’s choice of football allegiance.

Expressing his evolving perspective, Prince William emphasized the importance of instilling positive values and setting a good example for young fans within the football community. He highlighted the significance of fostering a love for the game and ensuring that role models exhibit behavior worthy of admiration.

Prince William’s stance on football loyalties has undergone a transformation over the years, reflecting a broader commitment to promoting sportsmanship and integrity within the realm of football.
