The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to take place across three countries, 16 cities, and feature 104 matches, posing challenges for police and security agencies. Concerns have been raised over potential security threats, with experts highlighting vulnerabilities in transport hubs, nightlife areas, and fan zones. The ongoing Iran conflict, lone-wolf extremist fears, and resource pressures have further amplified worries. While major crimes like pickpocketing, muggings, and scams are common concerns, some host cities struggle with high crime rates, particularly around nightlife districts.

Various World Cup stadiums have been assessed for safety using the City Safety Index, FBI crime data, and security expert evaluations. Among them is MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, known for hosting the final match. Despite low violent crime rates in the surrounding area, transportation challenges and potential theft risks have been highlighted. Similarly, Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, a legendary venue with a high crime rate, presents security concerns for fans.

AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Gillette Stadium in Boston, Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami also face unique safety considerations. Each stadium’s location, crime rates, and potential risks for fans have been analyzed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the safety landscape surrounding these iconic venues during the World Cup.
