Police have unveiled surveillance footage of a man they wish to converse with regarding an alleged sexual assault of a woman on a train. The individual purportedly tailed the woman within the train before committing the assault. The incident occurred around 7pm on a train journey from Doncaster to Wakefield on April 14.
Subsequent to the alleged assault, the man exited the train at Wakefield Westgate railway station. British Transport Police have disclosed an image of the man they desire to engage with regarding the episode, and they have urged individuals with any information to step forward.
A spokesperson for the authorities stated, “Investigators looking into a sexual assault on a train between Doncaster and Wakefield have publicized this image connected to the incident. At approximately 7pm on Tuesday, April 14, an individual aboard the train pursued a woman through the compartments and sexually assaulted her. He subsequently departed the train at Wakefield Westgate railway station.
“Authorities are keen to communicate with the individual depicted in the image, as they believe he might possess pertinent information for their inquiries. Anyone who can identify him is urged to reach out to British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 652 of April 14. Information can also be conveyed anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.”
