Two siblings are facing immense challenges after their mother and sister tragically lost their lives in a car accident, followed by the passing of their father a few weeks later.
Mason and Bailey are at risk of homelessness as their father, Ted Papworth, did not have a will in place, leading to the authorities seizing his property. Ted, who was devastated by the deaths of his partner Michelle Devine and their seven-year-old daughter Theia, passed away in his sleep in March.
Their aunt, Olivia Knight, expressed concern for the siblings, stating that they are struggling. She has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist Mason, 20, and Bailey, 18, in securing housing and covering funeral expenses.
The siblings’ mother, Michelle, and Theia lost their lives in a car crash on the A3 near Haslemere, Surrey, in February. Michelle was described by her family as having a kind heart, with her children being her greatest achievement. Her tragic death occurred just four months after the passing of her own sister due to a heart attack.
Olivia Knight shared her thoughts with the Daily Mail, emphasizing the immense grief the family is enduring with the loss of two daughters and the struggles faced by the young siblings. She highlighted the hardships Michelle faced before her demise following her sister’s death.
Despite living apart, Ted and Michelle had a close bond during their 22-year marriage. Ted, who resided in Spain, was deeply affected by the car accident and received support from his sister who visited from Australia.
Described as a devoted father, Ted was heartbroken by the loss of Michelle and Theia. The family is rallying together to support Mason and Bailey, who are now burdened with funeral expenses and the lack of a permanent residence due to the seizure of their father’s property. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist them in overcoming these challenges, with over £8,000 raised so far to prevent them from facing homelessness.
