A tragic incident occurred over the Bank Holiday weekend at a rooftop bar in Birmingham city center, resulting in the death of a man in his 40s who fell several floors. The incident took place at Henman & Cooper on Colmore Row around 6:20 pm on Sunday. Emergency services responded to the scene swiftly, but despite being taken to the hospital, the man passed away. West Midlands Police confirmed that the death is not considered suspicious.

Following the incident, the bar announced its closure for the remainder of Sunday due to unforeseen circumstances. In a social media post, Henman & Cooper expressed regret for the closure and thanked patrons for their understanding, looking forward to welcoming them back soon. Eyewitnesses described the prompt arrival of emergency services as overwhelming, with one individual from a nearby bar recalling hearing about the accident soon after it happened.
